One-Pot Braised Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Onion (sliced)
  • 8 Shiitake mushrooms (halved)
  • Spring onion (cut into sections)
  • 1 Potato (cubed)
  • 1 Carrot (sliced)
  • 2 Chicken thighs (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • A few slices of fresh ginger
  • 1-2 Star anise pods
  • 2 tbsp Light soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Dark soy sauce
  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch of sugar
  • A pinch of white pepper
  • 1 tbsp Soybean paste
  • 1 tbsp Abalone sauce (or Oyster sauce)
  • 3 tbsp Huadiao wine (Shaoxing cooking wine)
  • 1 small bowl of Water
  • 2 Red bell peppers (cut into chunks)

Instructions

  1. Layer the Ingredients: Carefully place all the ingredients (except the red bell peppers) into your Buffalo IH Smart Cooker in the exact order listed above.

  2. Set and Cook: Close the lid. Select the "Steam" function and set the cooking time to 20 minutes.

  3. Add Bell Peppers: When there are 5 minutes left on the timer, carefully open the lid, add the red bell pepper chunks, and close the lid to finish the remaining cooking time.

  4. Serve: Once the cooking cycle is complete, carefully open the lid, stir well to ensure the chicken and vegetables are evenly coated in the rich sauce, and serve hot!
